Beneath the long quiet rains of autumn

It rains here all the time and I love it. At the moment I’m chilling on my balcony, enjoying the impossibly gray sky. Have to leave for a registration session soon, a special one just for the English language classes. I’ve decided I’m going to take one class in English, a class on “e-society,” culture and technology type stuff.

The leaves have changed color so much since I got up that it looks like green paint washing off, showing the rust underneath. I’ll try to go to the park this weekend and take pictures of the changes. Today I was going to take lots of architecture and lighting pictures, to show off the pimp building designs on campus, but without sunlight, they wouldn’t be quite as impressive.

Or maybe they would. Who cares? The weather is beautiful.

  1. Uncle Paul says:

Conor, when I sent your father pics by snail mail in 1978 of my autumn in Frankfurt am Main, with a map that showed where I walked and what I took pics of, his comment back to me was: “Did you take these pictures during a total eclipse of the sun?”

Now I’m just waiting on the Drang.

I love this post. I could see and feel it.

Look who’s talking! Mad props to your portrait of the cornfield, German shepherds bobbing to and fro in post-harvest glebe.
