So a while ago I PULVERIZED my glasses.
I didn’t shoot my eye out, the frames were just beat after two years of constant wear, and the hinge had become so malleable, the two pieces of metal just softly detached from one another as I was adjusting the glasses on my face. Lose.
But I figure it’s time to get this whole situation sorted out, so I take a stroll downtown to a glasses shop and ask to have them repaired. The woman cheerily replies “Sure!” then actually looks at them, and says, “But… these are really broken.” Yeah. That’s why I need repaired.
So she says she’ll do what she can, but it might look ugly. Ugly fine by me, I say, because I need something to wear while at my computer in the wee hours of the morning, when my contact lenses usually dry out and bother me. She says come back in three hours, as she has a lot of other maintenance to do.
I come back, they’re fixed. And she fixed them for free. She would not accept payment of any kind. She said, “Well, that’s just service. I didn’t sell you anything.” An interesting philosophy, to be sure.
Here’s to being able to see. Rock!

Hey, this woman was very cool. Sometimes really Sometimes but not often those situations happen, where germany looks like a country in which service goes first…for the record it´s not like that !
But you must look so badly american that she thought: “oh might be a test of a reportage or something..”
OK so that’s funny but I still hate you, buddy. <3 I think she did it to be like “Yeah well in America life sucks but here everything rocks.” She probably got fired for it but who cares, she made a point.
How principled of her.
She would make a terrible prostitute with that outlook.
Not necessarily. The first hit is always free, as they say. You gotta grab the customer’s interest, you know?
Indeed I can see the depths of your cunning business strategy.
!.
By the way: I love that german flag…awesome
