Pwning people in debate

I’ve been told that I value logic very highly, and also that I’m a huge jerkface pathological debater and I argue vehemently regardless of what my stance on any given topic really is. I’m an ENTP, so this is to be expected. But seriously, man, I own people at arguing.

Thus I experience a sense of awe each and every time I bear witness to an instance of ownage wrought by someone who isn’t me. A swift and clean reverence rushes through me, whipping and winding out of my cynical, sardonic heart, and I’m left to contemplate the eternal mystery: what is it like to feel stupid? Some of us may never know.

Today, though, I’d like to bestow upon you all the means to call down the wrath of the gods of mock and scorn upon the heads of your foes. Behold.

There isn’t too much to say to that. You just kind of sit there feeling stupid, going, “But that doesn’t—damn, a windmill. In a beard.” You’ll say it to yourself over and over. You might try to convince yourself it’s CGI. But does that really matter? Because you can’t CGI yourself into countering that cunning logical tactic.

Ten thousand thanks to J for e-mailing this, saying, “This made me think of you immediately.” Obviously Jordan understands Bavarian culture to the T.

    I am doing that.

  2. Conor says:

    I know, Will. I know. That’s why it’s here.

  3. T-rex says:

Oddly I thought of you when I saw that, but I didn’t feel like sending it.

  4. Conor says:

Stop trying to trick me into thinking you’ve seen this before. Just deal with the fact that I discovered it.

OK actually Jordan created it, but it was per my instructions. I even described how the model should look, and what the best kind of beard gel would be to achieve the desired degree of stiffness.

I’m glad Jordan had the change to travel to Holland and realize the dream—my dream—of making this picture. Thanks for being a bro, man.

  5. Emily says:

do you think he’s had a beard and been practicing that since he was 17? i do. that looks like its been through years of a perfecting process. not a damn hair out of place.

  6. Conor says:

I can’t figure out what you mean by “practicing that”—gelling and sculpting it well, or just willing it to grow like that.

Knowing what I do about Dutch people, I think it’s the latter.
