Making fun of people is doing them a favor
I live for the comments on Slashdot. More often than not, they’re a complete waste of time, but when they strike gold, it makes all the troll-trawling worthwhile. This morning I was perusing the comment thread on an article about human-animal hybrid embryos created in order to harvest stem cells, and happened upon this gem:
Because 14-day-old embryos have such well-developed nervous systems that they can appreciate (nevermind even “experience”) pain?
So, it is not cruel when one does not “appreciate” or “experience” pain? You could then sedate a person to the point of being incapable of doing either in order to morally kill them?
Your argument is stupid and you know it, so why bother posting it?
If only I had mod points today. That wouldn’t be at only +3 Funny, I’ll tell you that much.
I wonder if the guy did actually know that his argument was stupid. That’s a question for the ages, I guess.
