News in brief

I have fortunately been living rather tech-free of late. As a consequence, I certainly haven’t been blogging, let alone reading up on the things I usually blog about. Instead I’ve been socializing quite a bit, and wishing I were instead at my computer. Kind of like this classic xkcd.

In short, I’m still horribly broke, but I’ve found a second job and will start raking it in in short order. I had an interview this morning and was hired on the spot, really hit it off with the guy. In fact, my future boss enjoys me so much, he invited me to have dinner at his house tonight. I’ll meet his wife and a few family friends, and best of all have a free meal. This guy is a very enthusiastic hobbyist chef, and his description of what he was going to cook actually did make me salivate.

More job training tomorrow morning, but in the afternoon I’ll sit down and blog my heart out. Right now I have to partake in a coffee klatsch with some friends before hopping on the train to go to dinner.
