Today is Download Day over at Mozilla, conveniently coinciding with the launch of Firefox 3 final. They’re shooting (obliquely) for a record of most downloaded software. Understandably, the press coverage would be quite nourishing to their cause.
As of this writing, there are just under 2 million downloads recorded. Given that Download Day extends until 17:00 UTC on June 18, 2008, I think we’ve only seen the beginning of this. I’d bet on at least 3 million, possibly 4 million, too.
Let’s watch.

Update:
OK, I guess I should have looked up some usage statistics before guessing about download numbers, because according to the counter Mozilla has running, they’re already over 7 million downloads. Goddamn!
Let’s hit 10 million, damn it!

DOWNLOADED.
Hoof. It’s over 9 million now. Jesus.
Hey, cool. American flag next to my comments.
DONE.
Also: …and you acquired a taste for something (local food, beer, fruit). This latter point is important because you will need to be able to tell everyone how it is unavailable in your current country.

conor something is wrong with the time at your blog. it says 4 am but actually here in germany it is 10:14 am
Yeah I had to change the timezone back to American time =/ I forgot to do that before I posted this entry, and that’s why it says 1:18 June 18. I really posted it at 19:18 June 17.
Really stupid that I can’t have two timezones running at the same time, but whatever.
